A pair of 20th century Sevres style porcelain ormolu vases – dark, cobalt blue with Rococo style motifs, scrolls, and curves all over – will make a wonderful decorative element in a modern character home. The body of each vase features gilt decorative motifs on a dark Sevres-blue ground, with a central cartouche on the front and the reverse, each showing a still life scene of a pair of cherubs, bouquet of flowers, on white background. The vases are also mounted with gilt bronze, in the form of a laurel wreath at the base, and in the form of foliage and a pine-cone finial on the lid. The parcel ormolu, porcelain handles either side of the vases each take the form of gold intertwined snakes.
